Nutrition Info & News

We are pleased to introduce our registered dietitian, Carole Harris

Carole's Food Philosophy:

Some people have become overwhelmed and disenchanted by all the nutrition information shared in the media.  And rightly so! I have spent the past 25 years using my nutrition background and my love of food to help people navigate through all the conflicting research and headlines.  My philosophy is about balance and getting back to realistic, life-long and attainable goals.  And more importantly, re-establishing a healthy relationship with food.  I believe eating is one of life’s great pleasures that should be enjoyed while still being a part of a healthy lifestyle.  I’d be happy to share how!

Eat Well,

Carole earned her undergraduate degree in Food and Nutrition at the University of New Hampshire and her Master’s in Clinical Nutrition at Boston University, where she was also Director of Catering.  From there she has gained experience and insight into various aspects of nutrition by working or consulting in a variety of settings including the Department of Public Health, WIC, health centers, private detox hospitals, medical offices, homeless shelters and long-term care facilities.

Connect one-to-one with Carole about a variety of topics, including:

·         Special Dietary Needs (gluten-free, low sodium, high fiber…)

·         Portions

·         Weight Loss/Gain

·         Understanding the Nutrition Facts Label

Whenever possible we try to provide entrees and soups that meet the guidelines set forth by the American Heart Association and our staff nutritionist. In addition to the daily specials, we have lots of heart-smart options that are available everyday! Many our deli, grill and salad bar options make fantastic choices for heart-healthy choices, and since our display cooking items are customizable you can make many of them as healthy as you'd like! Here are a few of our suggestions for great heart-healthy choices that are not only nutritious but delicious as well!
